Monday kicks off the nationwide Bully Prevention month. Every year the Lee County School District and School Board recognize October as National Bully Prevention Month. Check out the following calendar of events and resources found on the district’s prevention services main page of SharePoint.

Weekly Themes:

Monday, Oct. 5th- Wear Blue to support STOMP Out Bullying!

Week of Oct. 5th: Introduction to Bullying Prevention?. Access classroom toolkits and lesson plans to begin talking about bullying by clicking the link included for this week.

Week of Oct. 12th: Make friends with someone you don't know at school. This can include a Mix It Up at Lunch Day that encourages students to sit with someone new at lunch and engage in positive conversations to make connections across boundaries.

Week of Oct. 19:  STAND Up for Others Week. Teach and support students the importance of not being a bystander and to stand up when you see someone being bullied. Be a part of the solution, not the problem. The We Will Generation curriculum from Pacer is an excellent resource for students to be peer mentors and carry the message to STAND UP.

Oct. 21nd: Wear Orange to represent Unity Day, a Pacer's National Bullying Prevention Center campaign.

Week of Oct. 26:  Think Before You Type Campaign. The goal of this campaign is to raise awareness about cyberbullying, promote positive self-esteem, and encourage other young people to use the internet for good.
