Christopher Siren,  Instructor

Mr. Siren has taught in a variety of settings from a private piano teacher to a choir director for over 20 years. He began playing piano at his church when he was just a child and took lessons from the church organist and learned to play piano by ear. He played in recitals and began studying classical music at a very young age. He attended a performing arts high school, where he concentrated on jazz, and then moved to New Orleans to attend Southeastern Louisiana University, earning his Bachelor of Music Performance. While in New Orleans, Mr. Siren enjoyed the New Orleans sound and made it a priority to learn from all of the piano players there, becoming fluent in their different styles while trying to find a sound that was true to him. This led to him playing at The Maple Leaf and Le Bon Temps Roule in New Orleans. He has also worked with many Broadway and jazz singers, giving him a knack for feeling comfortable singing and playing the piano in front of an audience.

The Chorus programs have been created to enable students to develop fundamental vocal musicianship, technical skills and aesthetic awareness through the study and performance of various choral literature. Students perform in a variety of local venues including nursing homes, sporting events, county, district and state evaluations.
