About the Vocal Arts Program:

 Oak Hammock’s vocal arts program trains students in the fundamentals of vocal performance. Students must prepare and memorize songs for a performance at the end of each semester. Rehearsals and performances are a required part of this program. 

 Course focus: introduction to vocal performance.

 

 Ricardo Rivera-Aponte has a B.M.E from the Bower School of Music at Florida Gulf Coast University. One of his most recent adventures included traveling to Italy and performing in various festivals and cathedrals including St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, Naples Duomo, and the Cathedrale di Santa Maria Assunta, among others. Earlier on in his musical career he traveled to Hungary to study and perform in various festivals at the University of Szeged. The curriculum included masterclasses with professors across the U.S and with Hungarian opera singer Maria Temesi. He has performed with Opera Naples in their production of Bizets, Carmen; and was also in the production of Urinetown at FGCU as Bill Boy Bill. Ricardo recently served as the Musical Director of the Jr. production of James and the Giant Peach at the Bonita Center for the Arts and it brought him great joy working with the amazing developing young artists. His most recent accolade includes receiving 1st place in the international Great Composers Competition Series (singing). 

 Ricardo is heavily involved musically within the local community as a Core Singer in Choral Artistry,  a seasonal performer within the Naples Carolers, as a weekly singer in both Fort Myers Christian Church and Moorings Presbyterian of Naples, and as a wedding singer.
