Mr. McCarthy has been a professional actor for over 25 years. Some of his credits include KINKY BOOTS (Broadway/1st National Tour), THE WEDDING SINGER (1st National Tour), NICKY, RICKY, DICKY and DAWN (Nickelodeon), NCIS: LOS ANGELES (CBS), PLAID TIDINGS (NYC and West Coast Premieres), HELLO MY BABY! (West Coast Premiere), “Why Don’t We Just Dance” (Josh Turner - Music Video) and many more.

Theatre Arts

Oak Hammock’s theatre program is designed to encourage imagination and artistic expression in the form of Dramatic Art. Through collaboration, originality, and empathy, it is an inclusive space where middle school students can gain confidence, build character, and explore their creative selves. 

The Osprey Theatre program trains students in the fundamentals of theatre. Student coursework focuses on but is not limited to acting, dance/movement, non-dance movement, directing, script analysis, playwriting, theatre history, and staging. Over the three-year magnet curriculum, students will refine their skills and collaborate as a functioning theatre ensemble. Rehearsals and performances are a required part of this program.

Musical Theatre(Chorus)

The Musical Theatre program at Oak Hammock Middle School will provide the opportunity for students to explore their creative expression through music and voice. Student coursework includes but is not limited to vocal technique, vocal performance, musicality, acting through song, duet/trio/ensemble singing, movement (dance and non-dance), musical theatre history, and more. Rehearsals and performances are a required part of this program.
