Principal's Message

Dear Osprey Families,

I am very thankful to have the opportunity to return to Oak Hammock Middle School as the principal. This opportunity is one that is very exciting to me because of my passion for the students and staff of our school that I gained while teaching here from 2011-2016. During my time here at Oak Hammock, I taught math at all grade levels and served as a Math Teacher Leader. I left to work at Estero High School where I have been for the past six years as a teacher and assistant principal.  The level of consistent growth over the past six years at Oak Hammock has been encouraging to see. I look forward to using my prior experiences to work with our school community to continue our growth in the pursuit of seeing our school achieve new levels of success.

Personally, I am an educator through and through. My parents have been teachers for over forty years in Michigan and continue to show me the truly rewarding nature of this profession. My wife and I both studied education in high school and in our undergraduate programs and have both been working in education since graduating from college. We started off teaching in Ohio and later moved to Florida to teach here in the School District of Lee County. We both still love seeing students make connections in their learning and watching them achieve things they never thought possible. We have four kids that all attend school here in Lee County. We are very proud to be able to be a part of our school district and work to help our students grow.

As we move into this year, I am thrilled to dig into the work with our school community. Our mission is to provide a safe, respectful and rigorous learning community to ensure students reach their highest potential. It will take collaboration between teachers, staff, students, parents, and community members to make this a reality, and it is my goal to further this collaboration so each and every one of our students leaves Oak Hammock Middle School better prepared for their future.
