Nadege Elliott,  Instructor
 

Mrs. Elliott graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Science with a minor in Political Science and Psychology. After graduation, she moved to South Florida where she graduated from the University of Miami School of Law and obtained her Juris Doctorate (JD) degree. Mrs. Elliott practiced law for 12 years then choose to stay home to help with her grandchildren while her son attended medical school.



   

Culinary Arts I
This class teaches basic cooking  skills , such as, learning the different tools of the kitchen, how to accurately measure, reading recipes, and making simple meals in 20 minutes or less. The students also learn kitchen safety, proper use of knives, and pest preventative measures. The students have the opportunity to cook twice a week.

Culinary Arts II
This is an advanced class where the students continue to learn kitchen safety. They also continue to learn how to have and maintain a clean kitchen hereby preventing pests from entering their homes.  They learn food safety to include contamination and cross contamination. Additionally, students learn proper personal hygiene to prevent contamination during the flow of food, as well as, table settings and proper table manners.

Advanced Culinary
This 
is a high school course that prepares students for the workforce. Students who complete Culinary I and II and show a passion for culinary are invited to join this class. Students who complete the program may sit for the ServSafe certification test. Passing the test guarantees the students to be certified food prep for restaurants. It facilitates the means for them to obtain an entry level position in the food and restaurant industry.
